Jonathan Lee Gurno, age 38, of Red Lake, of the Bear Clan, journeyed to the spirit world on December 21, 2025 in Red Lake, MN.
Jonathan was born to Cheryl Rose Gurno on December 7, 1987 in Bemidji, MN. He grew up in Red Lake. Jonathan worked various jobs throughout his life and had many hobbies. He loved to work on his go-kart and mini bikes, anything small with his hands. He liked hunting, fishing, swimming and working on cars. He loved to tease and joke around with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews. He loved to go to the casino, doing scratch offs, playing on the x-box, playing on the Nintendo Switch, going for rides just to go for a ride. Jonathan loved smoking his smoke, always found a way to smoke. He always tried his hardest to comfort whoever he saw struggling. Jonathan had a huge heart and he would give you his last of whatever he had. He loved to be with/around his nieces and nephews. Wenona Marie was his Special Niece, but then he loved them all. He married Hilary Stately in 2012. He loved the music duo Twiztid, and he cried happy tears after being brough to a Twiztid concert. If he heard pow-wow music, he would dance. Jonathan loved animals, he loved cats. He loved to watch Dalilah bake homemade banana bread, cookies and brownies; most of the time she would bake something for him. Whenever he was around, he would hang out in the kitchen and watch whoever was cooking. He loved to play cribbage and Ten Thousand, especially with Merceline. He loved to make others laugh or smile. He would randomly say or do things, always trying to lift others up. He was a best friend to a lot of people.
Jonathan is survived by his sisters: Ellenrose Benaise (Kyle) of Red Lake, Alberta Benaise of Bemidji, Shyenne White of Thief River Falls; brother: Cameron White of Thief River Falls; special nephews: Dustin Springer Jr, David Jourdain Jr and Paco Cloud; special nieces: Destiny Springer, Dalilah Jourdain, Wenona Cloud and Mary Jane Cloud-Wind; special aunt: Merceline White; great-aunt Phyllis Gurno; and many other immediate family and friends who were close to Jonathan.
