Joseph Blackwolf Jr Obituary

In Loving Memory of Giiwedino Giniw, Joseph Blackwolf Jr. 10/17/1986-06/25/2026

Giiwedino Giniw-Joseph Blackwolf Jr., age 39, journeyed on from this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to his family.

Joseph is survived by  his two beautiful children, his son, Joseph Blackwolf III,  his daughter Kassandra Blackwolf, & Wiiwan Kathleen, his dad Joseph Blackwolf Sr., sisters Shannon, Heather, Hannah, Marissa, Nicole, Crystal and Sarah, brothers Geno and Ryan, and many beautiful nieces and nephews.

Those welcoming him are his mom Marjorie, brothers Dusty and Travis, sister Casandra, his grandfathers, grandmothers and many aunts, uncles and family members.

His greatest joy in life was spending time with his two babies, creating memories with them, and watching them grow. He found joy in planning their beadwork and upcoming family trip to Florida. They truly were the center and strength of his world.

Joseph found peace dancing in the circle, where his spirit shined brightly and his connection to his culture brought him happiness. He carried a deep love for those closest to his heart and was always fiercely protective of his family. Though he is no longer with us in body, his love, guidance, and protective spirit will continue to surround those he held dear.

Joseph will be remembered for his kind heart, his strength, his laughter, his humor and the deep love he had for his two babies and family. His memory will live on in his children, the stories shared, the songs and dances that honor him, and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished and remembered.

A wake for Joseph will begin on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the New Red Lake Center and will continue until the service at 10 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026 with Spiritual Leader Mike Dahl.
