Joshua Lee Needham, Jr.

Joshua Lee Needham, Jr., Ogimaa binesi Niizho anaag “Chief Thunder Bird, Two Stars”, age 1, travelled to the spirit world on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in Fargo, ND.

Joshua was born on April 13, 2021, in Coon Rapids, MN, to Lakeisha Chaboyea and Joshua Needham, Sr.  Baby boy loved to snuggle soft fuzzy blankets. He liked to play catch, swing, and feed the dogs. His favorite cartoons to watch were Bluey and Mickey Mouse. He also liked to watch SVU with his parents. He loved his snacks, especially his chicken alfredo and anything with ketchup. He loved to dance pow wow and pretend to play the drum. Baby was always with his “best friend”, his mom Lakeisha. He was always following behind her not letting her out of his sight. He liked to be a little janitor and help clean.  Baby was his mom’s “Son-Bun”. He liked to hang out with his favorite people: Dorla, Kristina and Felicia “Flo”. Baby boy had the cutest smile that could light up the room.

He will be lovingly remembered by his parents; siblings: KaLina “Bear” Needham, NataLia Chaboyea, and Jaycee Needham; grandparents: Lori (Alden, Jr.) Beaulieu, Donovan (Stacie) Sather, John “Ringo” and Marsha Needham; great-grandparents: Connie Chaboyea, Earl “Junior” Jones, Diane Roy; great-great-grandmother, Lorraine Chaboyea; special grandma, Dorla Chaboyea; uncles: Marcus and Brayden Beaulieu, Donovan Sather, Jr., Nolan and Talon Sather, Lucas Bradvolt; auntie: Grace Graves;  numerous aunts and uncles; special aunts: Kristina Schoenborn, Felicia Barron and Arlene Staples.

Those greeting him in the spirit world are his great-great grandparents:  Helen Benaise, Simon “Ado” Needham, David Chaboyea;  great grandmother, Janet Beaulieu; great-auntie, Lucy Barrett and uncle, Dominic Needham, Sr.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the New Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, with Zac Earley, Ty Stately, and Kelly Iceman as spiritual leaders. Active casketbearers will be: Marcus Beaulieu, Brayden Beaulieu, Billy Chaboyea, Dominic Needham, Jr. and alternates, Bob Needham and Michael Sather.  Honorary casketbearers will be: Morris Smith, Genevieve “Wooda” LowMaster, Lisa White, Chelsie Johns, Debbi Chaboyea, Dorla Chaboyea, Chelsey Beaulieu, Shelly Chaboyea, Grace Graves, Kristina Schoenborn, Felicia Barron, Riley Chaboyea, Christopher Schoenborn, Donovan Sather, Jr., Rhiannon Summer, and Clarence Barrett, Sr. Burial will be at the Chaboyea Family Burial Grounds in Red Lake.
