Justin Tysdale Obituary

Justin Clay Tysdale

October 29, 1976 - July 15, 2025

Justin Clay Tysdale, 48, of Breezy Point, MN, graduated to Heaven on July 15th, 2025.

Justin was born on October 29, 1976, in Owatonna, Minnesota. In 2005, he made his way north to the Brainerd Lakes Area, settling in Breezy Point, where he built a life full of friendship, adventure, and music.

He married Angela in 2007 and later divorced in 2019. Together they welcomed two children: Sofia Marie in 2008 and Clayton Michael in 2012. Being a father was Justin's greatest joy — his love for his children ran deeper than words, and they were truly the center of his world.

Justin had a wide circle of friends, all of whom he loved fiercely. Known for his big heart, quick wit, and adventurous spirit, he brought energy and laughter wherever he went. Music was his lifeblood — a true passion that gave voice to his emotions. He often said music expressed what he couldn't say out loud, and he shared that gift freely. He attended countless music festivals over the years and made memories that still echo in the hearts of those who danced beside him.

He found peace and joy in nature, especially while fishing, which he called his church. That joy only deepened when he began sharing those moments with Sofia and Clayton. He also had a loyal — if sometimes frustrated — love for the Vikings, often labeling them "the kings of letdowns".

Justin is survived by his children, Sofia and Clayton; his parents, David and Audrey Tysdale, and Vickie and James Henriksen; his stepbrothers Ryan (Renee) Piepho and Tim (Molly) Henriksen; his stepsister Renee Henriksen; his Grandmother Gladys Rassman; his loyal dog Ryder; as well as nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Michael, his grandparents Arnold and Bernyce Tysdale and Gordon Rassman, his Aunt Joanne, Uncle Chris, cousin Jared, several close friends, and his faithful dogs, Samson and Besnik.

Some of the truest parts of Justin are with us still - and some were always meant for the skies. We believe his reunion on the other side was full of joy, music, and familiar arms pulling him in.

As Justin would be telling us you know my love will not fade away.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to his children's future education are preferred.
