Kathryn Gertrude Pierre

Kathryn Gertrude Pierre, age 77, of Minneapolis Minnesota journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday December 22, 2025.

Kathy was born on June 24, 1948, in Red Lake, MN. She was the daughter of Joseph Pierre and Ida Gertrude Pierre. Kathy was employed as a Nursing Assistant most of her life and genuinely enjoyed working with the elderly. Kathy loved all animals, mostly dogs, and enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson. Kathy had 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys and was one strong woman! Kathy endured a lot of heart aches in life but even through that and her illness, it did not take away her sweetness and the amount of love she showed to her family. Kathy was always someone you could count on to help you in a tough time.          

Kathy is Survived by her 3 children: Marvin Greene Jr, Gina Robertson, Kelly Robertson, Grandchildren: Liberty Greene, Justice Strong, Brandon Badmoccasin, Freedom Badmoccasin,  Angel Green, Patrick Greene, Royce Doney, Rylan Doney, Cota Smith, Arielle Robertson-Rickett, Lynnea Robertson-Rickett, Jonny Greene, Roger Greene, Ricky Greene, Damien Greene and Terin Stately and many other family and friends.          

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Pierre and Ida Gertrude Pierre, her sister Delores “Tiny” Smith, brothers Patrick Pierre, and Mike Pierre as well as her Aunts Margaret Rose Lussier, Anna Spears, and  Loretta  Berg and her Cousin Darlene Needham; her daughters: Michelle Dawn Earth, Angela Kay Greene, Cheryl Renae Greene; her son: Ralph Paul Greene.

A wake will begin at 3 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the MN Indian Women’s Resource Center in Minneapolis, MN and will continue until 5 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025. A second wake will begin at 10 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Little Rock Center and will continue until the service at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 with Rev. Joan Conroy officiating. Active Casketbearers will be Jonny Greene, Damien Greene, Roger Greene, Ricky Greene, Marvin Greene, Geoffrey Pierre, Royce Doney. Honorary Casketbearers will be Gina Robertson, Kelly Robertson, Karen Donnell, Cota Smith, Rylan Doney. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
