Kerry Justin Morgan

Kerry Justin Morgan, age 65, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 9, 2024 at his home in Cass Lake, MN.

Kerry was born on February 9, 1959 to David Sr and Josephine (Cloud) Morgan. He grew up in Bena, MN, and attended Cass Lake-Bena School. He moved to Duluth to be with family and later returned to Bena, where he worked for Leech Lake Small Vehicle Repair for over 20 years as a mechanic and Leech Lake Gaming as a Security Guard. He also worked with his Dad and brother as a contract employee for the Forestry. He retired in 2022 due to health reasons. Kerry enjoyed wild rice harvesting with his brother Clyde, watching football with family and friends and going to the casino. He loved taking his children out on long drives, outdoor walks and fishing – just to name a few of the great times he spent with his children. He had his own special ways with his nieces and nephews – which included raising cane! They will treasure the special memories they have of him. He went out of his way to help the homeless, especially during the last year.

Kerry is survived by his children: Justina, Justin, Kerry Jo and Jason Raschke; grandchildren: Christina, Brandon, Alex, Isaiah, April, Terrance, Trinity and Tishina; great-grandchildren: Corey, Keina, Waabigwan and Robert, all from Duluth, MN; sisters: Dawn Morgan, Doreen (Rayis) Morgan; and brothers: Clyde Morgan and David (Chief) Morgan; nieces and nephews: Luvette Moose, Maureen Moose, Jacklyn Moose, Dave (Wendy) Bismarck, Davina Smith, Jeannie Smith, Tana Robinson, David Morgan III, Gabrielle Morgan, Peter Morgan, Bobby Jo Holstien, Paula Kay Hardy, Kristi Morgan, Crystal Morgan, Dianna Morgan, Melissa Morgan, Lisa Morgan, Josh-way Morgan and Sakita Morgan.

He was preceded in death by parents: David and Josephine Morgan; sisters: Patricia (Patsy) Moose and Karin Morgan; cousin: Raymond (Douglas) Cloud; nephew Merrick “Son” Moose; niece: Belinda Smith; sister-in-law: Janice Morgan; and cousin: Geraldine “Gerri” Hardy, and many other family members and friends.

A wake will begin at 5 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Dave Morgan Community Center in Bena, MN and will continue until the service at 11 AM on Monday, December 16, 2024 with Rev. George Ross. Active Pallbearers will be Josh-wah Morgan, Davy Bismarck, Charles Losh, Alaunie Brown, Terrance Jourdain and Justin Raschke. Alternate will be Dominic May. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Morrow, Pete Morgan, Rayis “Bro” Losh, Clyde Morgan, David “Chief” Morgan, Melissa Morgan, Lisa Morgan, Tyler Losh, Kyle Lovelace and Special Niece Eva Lovelace. Internment will be at Makahum Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, MN.
