Kirby Lee Perkins

Kirby Lee Perkins, age 36, Ozaawigwan “Yellow Feather”, Paa paa Tey Wahsin “Spotted Rock”, of the Kingfisher Clan, began his journey to the spirit world on Monday, June 16, 2025 in Fargo, North Dakota.

Kirby was born on July 15, 1988 to Dell and Daniel “Boone” Perkins Sr in Bemidji, MN. Kirby liked throwing darts, traveling and playing video games. He liked hanging out with friends, going to movies and attending concerts. His favorite football team was the Pittsburg Steelers. He loved all his nieces and nephews and especially liked watching them play basketball.

Kirby is survived by parents: Dell and Daniel Perkins; siblings: Katie Perkins, Dan Perkins Jr, Gracelyn (Bryant) Siekas, Jeffery (Darchelle) Perkins and Challenge Johnson; nieces and nephews: Justin Brown, Austin Perkins, Kial Perkins, Kaleigha French, Sylas Perkins and Greycen Siekas.

He is preceded in death by grandparents: Lloyd & Darlene Johnson, Clyde & Grace Perkins, Susan & Harry Johnson and Ethel & Rufus Johnson; and special brothers: Chris and Kyle Schoenborn.

A wake will begin at 12 PM on Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah and will continue until the service at 10 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 with Spiritual Leader Allen Hardy. Active Pallbearers will be Bryant Siekas, Justin Brown, JR Graves, Jerrell Martin, Sonny Perkins, Ola Cobenais, Scott Perkins and Thomas Jackson. Alternates will be Coltin Mitchell, Barney Perkins, Austin Perkins, Tanner Glynn, Whee Charnoski, Darren “Scott” Perkins, Quentin Nelson and Harold White. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jo Cobe, Jackie Brown, Michelle Cobenais, Kathleen Martin, Ethel Branchaud, LeEllen Pemberton, Brad “Buskey” Johnson, Justine Hubbard, Margaret Charwood, Tracen Defoe, Renae Kingbird, Ciara Baker, Ray Charnoski, Herb Nelson III, Raven Isham, Ange Charnoski, Amanda Jourdain, Shawn Carlson, Gary Auginash Jr, Stu Sweeney, Tammy Lussier, Casey Perkins, Avery Stillday, Kip Perkins, Stephen Stillday, Anthony Johnson, Ryan Kingbird, coworkers and the Big Tap Staff.
