Kyle W. Swinson

Kyle W. Swinson, Bear Clan, age 40, travelled to the spirit world on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Red Lake, MN.

Kyle was born in Minneapolis, MN to Larry and Alberta (Clark) Swinson. Kyle grew up in Minneapolis and later moved to Red Lake. He was a “nomad” who loved to travel to new places, meet new people and was always on the move. He was an excellent cook and worked at Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls and was also the manager at Subway at the MSP Airport. He was a game show junkie and loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with his mom and was a super fan of “The Walking Dead” and all Marvel movies. He sang and played drum in his younger years as well as the clarinet and loved video games.  He will be remembered for his mischievous “Swinson Smile” and was proud to be a dad and grandpa.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Keenan, Keegan, Kaylynn, Karmen, Kiana, Kacey, Kyle, Jr., and Katalaya Swinson; granddaughter, Kimora; his mother, Alberta Swinson; siblings: Dawn Purser, Don Purser, Brian Swinson and Amy Swinson; close friends: Karma Strong, Ione McKenzie, Waabooz Banks, and Doug Eagle; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Larry Swinson, his grandparents, as well as numerous other relatives.

A celebration of his life will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the New Red Lake Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Casketbearers will be: Richard Clark, Bradley Guenthner, Waabooz Banks, Waagosh Banks, Devin Sayers and Nodin Wind. Inurnment will be at a later date.
