Kyleisha Rose Garrigan, of the Bear Clan, age 22, began her journey to the spirit world on June 24, 2026 in Redby, MN.
Kyleisha was born on May 28, 2004, to Amber M Sayers and Kyle W Garrigan Sr. At the age of 2, she went to live with her grandparents, James and Adelma Oakgrove, whom she loved dearly. In 2019, she was also adopted by James and Adelma. Kyleisha, in her young age, had a very, very full life. She traveled to many places. She attended and graduated from Trek North High School in 2022 and also attended and graduated from Red Lake Nation College with an AA Degree in May 2026, with Honors, and was continuing her education at BSU in 2026. She loved taking care of family, as she had full custody of her 3 younger brothers after she lost her father (Kyle) on July 19, 2025 & mother (Amber) on July 21, 2025. Kyleisha would make friends wherever she went. She was loving, compassionate, caring, intelligent, fierce, and possessed many leadership qualities. She was a stylish dresser who loved getting dolled up, getting her nails, lashes, and hair done. Kyleisha was a boss girl with a feisty attitude; all her friends knew this.
Kyleisha was survived by her grandparents, Jim and Adelma Oakgrove, and paternal grandma Sherry Garrigan. Aunts Nicole (Donald) Brun, Cheryl “Annie” Oakgrove, Rhonda Garrigan-Kingbird, Laurie Garrigan, Debbie Garrigan. Grandma Lisa Sayers, Uncle Barry Oakgrove, Brothers Kyle Jr, Avery, Wayne Jr, Waylen, and her baby Wayde. Very close friends: special mom Charmaine Andersen, special sister Drea Donnell, special aunt & uncle Charlene Andersen, Geoff Pierre, special close friends Darrell Seki Sr., her BFF’s Ally Dickenson, Tamia Varney, Dezmen Cook, KJ Needham; close cousins: Anna Oakgrove, Leichelle Oakgrove, Misty Oakgrove, Azalea Oakgrove-Brun, Daxton, Michael, Ethan Thunder and special people she considered family Inez, Aniya and Karli. Kyleisha had two very special animals, Cleo and Bozo, who were near dear to her heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Amber Sayers and Kyle Garrigan Sr., Paternal and Maternal
Great Grandparents, Cousin Martin Clark Jr., very close schoolmate and great friend, Allyssa Dow, and many other relatives.
A wake will begin at 2 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026 at the Redby Community Center and will continue until the service at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Frank Brun, Che Chernugel, Chello Williams, Dezmen Cook, Johnathon Carlson, Isiah Oakgrove, Bruce Sayers, Donald Brun Jr., Shawn Oakgrove, Aaron “Cody” Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tamia Varney, Ally Dickenson, Lynelle Charnoski, Rod White Sr., Darrell Seki Sr., Rob May, Dan King, Harold Graves and Samantha Roy, Geoff Pierre, Charlene Andersen, Charmaine Andersen, Drea Donnell, Devon Andersen, Dawn Beaulieu, Sonny Stately, Michael Thunder, Ethan Thunder, Inez and Brent Sigana, Aniya Sigana, Delbert Lasley Sr, Wayne Johnson Sr., Willie Strong, Marie Spears, KJ Needham. Burial will be at the Oakgrove Family Burial Grounds in Redby, MN.
