Lana Beth Whitefeather

Lana Beth Whitefeather, Midegiizhigookwe (Spiritual Healing Sky Woman) of the Migizi Clan, age 43, began her journey to the spirit world on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in Fargo, North Dakota.

Lana was born on November 24, 1981 to Jay Rosebear and Gary Kingbird in Red Lake, MN. She was raised by grandparents Rose Rosebear-Kingbird and Myron Kingbird Sr in Ponemah, MN.  Lana was as a full-time Mom and worked as a J Pecc CNA, at the Ponemah Treatment Center, at New Beginnings and as a Fire Fighter. She enjoyed sewing, ceremonies, baking and cheerleading. She loved traveling, cookouts, family outings, shopping (especially at Sam’s Club), watching Lifetime and Hallmark, and playing Word Scramble. She liked listening to music while cleaning, gossiping, eating at new places and visiting with family and friends. She loved being a grandma and spending time with her husband, her babies and grandbabies.

Lana is survived by her husband: Corey Whitefeather Sr; sons: Tyler (Gwen) Rosebear and Dakota (Deangela) Rosebear Sr, Kendall Whitefeather and Shadow (Alex) Whitefeather; daughters: Lakiah (Neal) Rosebear, Taylor Whitefeather, Thyria Whitefeather, Lakota (Toby) Whitefeather; and grandkids: Dakota Jr, Dacian, Lola and Zayden; moms: Jay and Rose Rosebear; brothers:  Tim (Rhiannon) Sumner and Richard “John” Sumner III; sisters: Cristy Sumner, Mistie Sumner and Kim Sumner; aunts: Betsy Rosebear and Sandra (Kevin) Rosebear; and uncle Kevin (Sharon) Rosebear.

She is welcomed to the spirit world by dad: Gary Kingbird; step-dad: Petie Thomas; grandpas: Myron Kingbird Sr, Wallace Kingbird Sr and Gerry Kingbird; grandmas: Ella Kingbird and Margeret Wright; uncles: Arnold Rosebear, Loren Kingbird, Wallace Kingbird Jr, Norman Kingbird, Merlin Kingbird, Darry (Porky) Rosebear; aunties: Lisa Kingbird and Beatrice Fairbanks; step-son: Corey Whitefeather Jr; niece: Marijane Sumner; cousins: Chanelle Rosebear, Jess Rosebear Sr, Latrell (Pete) Brun and Wallace Kingbird III.

A wake will begin at 1 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN and continue until the service at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 with Spiritual Leaders Ty Stately and Zac Earley. Active Pallbearers will be Neal Johnson, Shadow Whitefeather, Kendall Whitefeather, Kelly Iceman Jr, Richard Sumner Jr and Carmine Beaulieu. Alternates: Micheal Rutledge, Marvin Black, Kevin Rosebear Jr,  Arnold AJay Rosebear, DeAnthony Gonzalez, Gavin Sumner and Timmy Sumner.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Meaghan Miller, Kaitlyn Rutledge, Julia Rosebear, Andrea Rosebear, Lois (Dolly) Northbird, Rod Northbird, Shaulissa Kingbird, Larissa Kingbird, April Spears, Jonessa Kingbird, Kelsey Rosebear, Lorelle Garrigan, Carolyn Beaulieu, Shalise Erickson, Kathy French, Cindy French, Alex Dow, Teana Clark, Dolly Iceman, Elsie Rushman, Robert Rushman Sr, Simone Sumner, Calem (Debbie) Sumner, Zorana Iceman, Christina Rosebear, Mide Family and all her family.  Burial will be at the Rosebear Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, Minnesota.
