Lawrence “Larry” Norquay, Sr., age 49, of Redby, MN, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in Red Lake, MN.

Larry was born on February 11, 1973, in Red Lake, MN to Lawrence and Patricia (Jourdain) Morgan. He graduated from Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School in Bena, MN.  Larry was a hard worker and fought fires though out the United States for the Forestry Service. He also worked at Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls. Above all, he was devoted to his children, and took pride in being a good father.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Patricia Morgan; children: Misty Oakgrove, Alexandra “Ellie” Maxwell, Lawrence Norquay, Jr. and Avery Norquay; two grandchildren: Anya and Azela Oakgrove; siblings: Frances “Kay” Norquay, Patrick Norquay, Gerald Norquay; and very special brother, Terry Jourdain, who’s Larry’s dad called them “his boys”; aunt, Mary Gibbs; uncles: Joseph and Richard Jourdain; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Morgan; special aunt, Lucille Auginash; aunts: Elsie and Pauline; uncle, Francis, and many other family members.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the Redby Center and continue until the service at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, with Pastor Josephine Smith officiating.  Active casketbearers will be: Ron Beaulieu, Dallas Little, Gary Auginash, Sr., Dave Cournoyer, Joey Johnson, Richard Clark and alternate, Jeff Barrett.  Honorary casketbearers will be: Russell Kingbird, Gary Auginash, Jr., Terry Jourdain, Gilbert Juarez, Justin Auginash, Alan Jones, Ron Schoenborn, Rod Jackson, Jon Auginash, Darwin Kingbird, and Joey Kingbird. Burial will be at the Redby Community Cemetery in Redby. Arrangements by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service (www.whisperingpinesnorth.com).
