Leon Neadeau began his spiritual journey on Monday, September 2, 2024 in Bemidji, Minnesota.
Leon was born on August 29th, 1951 to his parents James Neadeau Sr. & Katie Neadeau (Sayers). He came from a big family in the West End area of Red Lake. Leon was one of Seven boys and five girls. Leon Neadeau grew up in Red Lake, MN. He was educated at the Mission School. Later in life, he also earned many certificates. He was a master auto-mechanic, Leon was known as the Jack of All Trades as he would like to say. Leon grew up hunting wild game and hauling water buckets from the lake back to the house for use. Leon enjoyed helping people and fixing peoples’ cars for money. He lived in different states like Florida, Arizona, & Colorado while being married to his first wife. He resided in Minneapolis where he raised some of his children and step-children. Eventually, Leon made his way back to his homelands of Red Lake where he lived the remainder of his life. Leon loved his children and grandchildren.
Leon was preceded in death by both parents, James Neadeau Sr. & Katie Neadeau; his brothers Royce Sayers, James Neadeau Jr, Myron Neadeau, Francis Neadeau, Douglas Neadeau; his sisters, Delores Good, Edwina Neadeau, Geraldine Neadeau, Alivia Neadeau; his son Jason Chaboyea, Jason & Karie Bongo; and his grandchild Calliet Little.
He is survived by Children Tanya Chaboyea, Justin Neadeau, Jesse Neadeau, William Chaboyea, Simone Stillday, Jeremy Neadeau, Jeremy Shumate, Leah Neadeau, & Katie Neadeau; his sibling Allura May; and numerous grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.
A wake will begin at 12 Noon on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the New Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN and continue until Thursday, September 5, 2024. Family and Friends are invited to share stories of Leon. Active Casketbearers will be all relatives and friends in attendance.
