LLOYD A. FREY

Funeral services for Lloyd A. Frey, age 87, who died Wednesday, will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Laporte, MN on Saturday November 18. Visitation is at 3pm with a service to follow at 4pm.

Lloyd Adolph Frey was born to Lloyd William and Dorothy Frey on March 20, 1936. He was born in a cabin on Lake George in northern Minnesota. He grew up near Laporte Minnesota and graduated from the Laporte school.

After Lloyd graduated from high school he spent time working on the iron range in northern Minnesota. He later attended a school in the Twin Cities to learn welding. During this time he dated Gayle Hegg and they were married on July 2, 1960, in Laporte. After they were married they moved to the Twin Cities, living the majority of the time in St Louis Park. Lloyd worked many years in St Paul as a welder; eventually moving into a maintenance position there and completed his career working in maintenance for a company in Hopkins, Minnesota. After he retired, Lloyd and Gayle spent winters on North Padre Island near Corpus Christi, Texas.

Lloyd was preceded in death by a son Todd, his parents, sister Dorla, brother Eugene, and grandson Jonathon. He is survived by his wife Gayle, children Phillip (Sandra), Janel (Chris) and Clayton, a sister Claudia (Don), 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
