Lois Elaine Manypenny, age 78, of Bemidji, Minnesota, entered the spirit world on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, North Dakota.
Lois was born November 4, 1944, in Red Lake, Minnesota, to James and Verna (Hanson) Fairbanks. She was raised in Red Lake and graduated from Red Lake High School. After graduation, Lois moved to Minneapolis to attend Robinson’s Beauty School in Brooklyn Park. She worked as a beautician and later as a bartender. She stayed in Minneapolis for many years and then 18 years ago moved to Bemidji to be closer to family.
Lois was mother to three children: Craig, Carol and DeAnn She is remembered as a good woman and a good Mom, one you could always rely on. She was proud of her grandsons Devon Rainey and LeRas Rainey and her great-grandchildren Mila and King Rainey. Lois was very close to her brother Joseph. You always had fun being around Lois! She enjoyed going to the casino and, Oh! she loved her cowboy boots!
Lois will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Carol Bellanger and DeAnn Manypenny; son Craig Bellanger; grandsons Devon Rainey and LeRas Rainey; great-grandchildren Mila and King Rainey; brother Joseph Fairbanks; and many nieces and nephews. Those waiting to greet her are her parents, James and Verna Fairbanks, and sisters Barbara, Margaret, Jeanie, and Bonnie Fairbanks.
A wake for Lois will begin on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 10:30am, at the Mission Community Center, Cass Lake, MN, and will continue until the service on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 1:00pm. Officiating will be Fr. George Ross. Pallbearers will be Aaron Fairbanks, Brian Fairbanks, Gene Conklin, JC Fairbanks, Carl Fairbanks, and Devon Rainey. Honorary pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews.
