Loran James Lafave

Loran “Lorny” James LaFave, "Fashquaz" 77, of Cloquet, passed away at his home on Monday, January 13, 2020.

Loran was born October 4, 1942 in Cloquet, MN to John and Mary (Livingston) LaFave. He was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Loran retired as a foundry worker. He enjoyed talking basketball with his grandchildren, especially his Golden State Warriors, playing cribbage, and making his monthly trips to the casino. Loran will always be known for his infectious laugh and for being quite the heartbreaker.

Loran was preceded in death by his parents; his sons Jerry and John; his brothers Lloyd, Leonard, and Lyman; and sisters Loretta and Lois.

He is survived by his children Richard (Jody) LaFave, Sherry (Caroline) LaFave, Loren LaFave Jr., and Brad (Margaret) LaFave, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and his beloved bird Sabrina.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cloquet on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
