Lorrette C. Caldwell,” Bwaanikwe - Sioux Woman”, Eagle Clan, age 39, of Red Lake, MN passed away On Saturday, October 31, 2020 in Chilton, WI.

Lorrette was born on December 4, 1980 in Riverton, Wyoming to Doris Kingbird and Euwin Caldwell.  She grew up in Ponemah, MN and attended school in Red Lake.  She was a kind, caring person who loved spending time with her children.  She was an excellent cook and was known for her Mexican food, fry bread and her daughter’s favorite, spaghetti. She enjoyed listening to music while she cruised the backroads. Lorrette liked to stop at the casino to play Keno and was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan.  Above all she loved her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children:  Valentin Guevara, Santanna Caldwell and Aries Guevara; her parents: Doris Kingbird and Euwin Caldwell; siblings:  Garritte (Michelle) Caldwell, Jerritte (Jackie) Caldwell, William Kingbird, Sr., Kenny Caldwell, Mickey French, Alecia Caldwell, Rayjean (Kenny) French, Jolene (Justin) French and Tyrell (Amber) Patterson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lorrette was preceded in death by her sisters:  Lucinda Caldwell, Stephanie Caldwell and Gari Lynn Caldwell and Kimberly Ann Caldwell; her grandparents:  Jack and Lucille Kingbird, Sr. and Harrison and Janet Caldwell; uncles:  Ronnie Kingbird, Edmund Kindbird, Sr., Gerald Kingbird and Harold Kingbird, Sr.; and her aunt, Donna Lewis.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah and will continue until the service at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 6, 2020. The spiritual leader will be Arnold Kingbird “Wiizhoobines – “The Thunder Birds”.  Casketbearers will be:  Shane Stillday, Derrik Jourdain, Justin Desjarlait, Sr., Kenny Lussier, Bruce Taylor, Sr., Kevin Patterson, Andrew Spears, Sr., and Sam Kingbird, Sr.. Honorary casketbearers will be: Shawnee Basswood, Miranda White, Collette Kingbird, Avery White, Shena Martin, Will Tyler, Randall White, Sr., Lenetta Jourdain and all her nieces and nephews.  Interment will be at the Kingbird Family Burial Grounds.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral and Cremation Service of Walker (www.whisperingpinesnorth.com).
