Marc Jones

Marc Geoffrey Jones, age 45, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Redby, MN, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Minneapolis on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Marc was born on May 19, 1977, in Red Lake, MN, to Mary Jones and William Fairbanks. He worked at Thief River Falls Seven Clans Casino as well as various other jobs throughout his life. He loved hanging out with friends and family. He liked playing pool, golfing, watching basketball and football, making jokes and laughing and being on Facebook. Above all, he loved his children and grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Marc is survived by his parents: Mary (Alfred Berg) Jones and William Fairbanks; brother, Gordon Jones; three sisters: Karyn (Clayton) Jourdain, Janet (Dave Pederson) Jones, and Melissa Fairbanks; children: Kendra (Vern) Smith, Tyra Smith, Dylan Smith, Marcus Jones, Latrell Jones, Kiara Jones, Maurice Jones, Lucas Jones, Viola Jones; grandchildren: Emery Morris, Elias Morris, Keelan “Keeks” Morris, Talia Smith, Ryan Defoe, and Daniel Jones; uncles: Duane Fairbanks, Adrian Fairbanks, Herman Fairbanks, Richard Lee Jones; aunts: Charlene King/Johnson, Vicki Juarez; two special aunts: Patricia Morgan and Mary Gibbs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harry and Viola Fairbanks and Pauline and Theodore Jones; his sister, Gwendolyn Fairbanks; brother, Gregory Fairbanks; aunts: Elizabeth Jones and Marilyn Jones, and numerous other family members.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Redby Community Center in Redby and continue until the service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, with Pastor Tom Pollock officiating. Active casketbearers will be: Randy White, Sr., Rod Stillday, Ed Jourdain, Frank Blue, Dan Wells, Dave Dudley, Delwyn English, Sr., and Brandon Fairbanks.  Honorary casketbearers will be: Charlie Johnson, Alfred Berg, Gary Auginash, Sr., Gilbert Juarez, Gerry King, Terry Jourdain, Karin King, Lynette King, Salina Jones, Lelani “Lolli” Jones, Lennetta Jourdain, Rhonda Garrigan-Kingbird, Renae Fairbanks, Karla Lajeunesse, and Vicki Juarez.
