Margaret “Maggie” Katherine Accardo-Staples, age 55, began her journey to the spirit world on Friday, February 9, 2024 at her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Maggie was born to Thomas and Norma (Knapczyk) Accardo on March 13, 1968, in Bemidji, Minnesota.
She was raised at Tom’s Resort and attended school in Cass Lake. She attended Cosmetology School in Bemidji to learn hairstyling. She married Richard “Rick” Staples on May 6, 1989. After living in St Cloud for several years, Maggie moved to Minneapolis. Maggie loved caring for her grandchildren and had them with her as often as she could. She had a big heart and was generous with just about everyone! She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, raising houseplants and listening to music. Today she would want us to hear “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks.
Margaret is survived by Rick and four children, Megan (David) Staples, Richard (Nise) Staples Jr, Daniel Staples and Alexander (Gloria) Staples; 9 grandchildren; mother Norma (Wayne) Knapczyk; sisters Laura Canty and Tommi Jean Accardo; brother Vince (Krista) Accardo; uncles Rocky and Kenneth Tibbetts; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by father Thomas Accardo; sister Rose Alm; maternal grandparents Irene & Elmer Tibbetts, paternal grandparents Rose & Vincent Accardo; father-in-law Charles Staples Jr; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, Minnesota.
