Marie Lucille Wilson, Mindimooyeh "Old Lady", started her journey to the Spirit World on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Bemidji, Minnesota. She was born on July 2, 1932 in Red Lake, Minnesota, to Edward and Lucy (Strong) Holenday.
Marie lived in Redby, Ball Club and Inger before settling in Redby, Minnesota. She married Thomas Edward Wilson Sr on September 12, 1948. She was Secretary to the Chairman from 1975-1990. Marie enjoyed watching game shows, Gunsmoke and all westerns. She loved playing bingo and doing puzzles. Marie loved her 3 pumpkins, Keon, John and Misty; they were always with her.
Marie is survived by daughter Marian King; granddaughter Marla (Jason) King; grandson Kevin (Koreen) King, who she helped raise; granddaughter Desirie (Desi) Wilson; special nephews Burton (Luke) Wilson and Daniel (Fudd) Wilson; 8 more grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Thomas Wilson Sr; son Thomas Wilson Jr; sister Lucille Johnson; son-in-law Fred King Sr and great-grandchild Savannah.
Wake will be on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the New Redby Center. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the New Redby Center with Fr. George Ross officiating. Burial will be at the family home site. Active Pallbearers will be Daniel (Fudd) Wilson, Joshua Roy, Terry Jourdain, Darwin Sumner, Dwight (Binky) Johnson and Corey Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Keon King, John Salazar, Misty Salazar, Burton (Luke) Wilson, Gerald (Jake) Bowstring, Floyd (Buck) Jourdain, Judy Roy, Candy Beaulieu, Mavis Strong, Buddha Strong, Al Pemberton, Nicole Roy, Kathryn (Josephine) Beaulieu, Beth Roy, Melanie Roy, Chelsey Redbear, Charlotte Monette, the Red Lake Nation Tribal Enrollment Committee and the Havenwood Care Center staff and residents.
