Marion R. Paddy

Marion Rose (Weise) Paddy, age 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.

Marion was born on May 11, 1945, to Sophie (Howard) and Simon Weise Sr. in Red Lake, MN. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. She moved to Chicago, IL in 1964 where she met her husband, Raymond Dean Paddy, and together raised five amazing children. She was always on the go and enjoyed trips to the casino, daily rides to Bemidji, listening to music, watching her game shows and keeping up with the news.

She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Paddy of Red Lake, Roxanne Paddy of Thief River Falls; sons: David Paddy, Darrell Paddy and Dean Paddy all of Red Lake; special granddaughter, Alaina Paddy of Red Lake; brother, Simon Weise Jr.; brother in law, Don Paddy; sister in law, Rita Weise; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and she was expecting her first great-great grandchild in February, 2025; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Paddy; infant daughter, Ramona; her parents, Sophie and Simon Weise Sr.; brother, James Weise Sr.; sisters: Dorothy Benais, Luanne Wind and Edith Weise-Beaulieu and many other family members.

The wake will begin at 9AM on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Old Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 1PM with Father John Christianson officiating. Active pallbearers will be: Emilio Mendoza, Michael Hayes, Carlos Mendoza, Kacen Mendoza, James Weise Jr., Brandon Sayers and alternate, Robert Fier Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be: Francisca Mendoza, Bianca Mendoza, Mandee Hayes, Melisa Hayes, Ria Paddy, Lorena Paddy, Reeiikwa Starr, Rita Weise, Joanne Weise, Jaime Weise, Becky Wiese, Ruby Wind, Deborah Hegstrom, Agnes Benais,  and Laurine Beaulieu. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service.
