Marnelle Jean Strong

Marnelle Jean Strong, age 32, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Wadena, Minnesota. She was born on March 7, 1992 in Fargo, North Dakota to Merrilee Buddha Strong and Randy Hanks Sr.

She enjoyed listening to country music, watching Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right. She was very loved wherever she went. She would call her mom everyday, as well as her aunties, sister Wesleyann and niece.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories are her mother Buddha (Rick) of Redby; her father Randy of White Earth; sisters Wesleyann Darcie Strong of Mandree, ND, Alainam, Atlantis and Alerus Hanks of White Earth; brothers Martell Strong of Redby, Cody White of White Earth; Gramma Ethal Feather of White Earth; aunties Mavis Strong of Redby, Melodie (Mike) Strong of Redby, Marida Missy Seki of Red Lake, Maelyn Strong of Red Lake, Donna Strong of Red Lake; step-dad who helped raise her Curtis Kingbird of Redby; uncles Rex (Elsie) Strong Sr of Redby, Willie (Earlene) Strong of Redby, Melivn (Yvonne) Strong of Crystal, MN; great uncles James “Gus” Strong of Redby; nieces Aniah, Ava and Eve Fredricks of Mandree, ND.

Marnelle is preceded in death by grandparents Frances & Melvin Strong; aunt & uncle Margaret “Magi” & Murphy “Joe” Parkhurst Jr, aunt & uncle Mildred “Millie” & Delwyn “Sonnie” Holthusen; Marilyn “Junebug” Strong; and Maloree J. Strong; and brother Randy Hanks Jr.

The wake will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Redby Community Center in Redby and continue until the service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 with Father George Ross. Active Casketbearers will be Brandon and Gary Strong, Delwyn Holthusen, Martell Strong, Otis Strong, George Strong, Barry Oakgrove, Bryson Jourdain and Joe Parkhurst. Honorary Casketbearers will be Melodie Strong, Maelyn Strong, Donna Strong, Missy Seki, Verna and EmJay Redeagle, Mavis Strong, Amber Parkhurst, Jared Ryan, Wesleyann Strong, Mike Church and Curtis Kingbird.
