Marvin Hjalmer Stohlberg

Marvin Stohlberg passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Essentia Hospital in Duluth, MN.

Marvin Hjalmer was born to Hjalmer and Elsie (Johnson) Stohlberg on December 6, 1947.  He grew up in Esko with his younger sister Renee.  He attended and graduated from Proctor High School in 1965.  After graduation he joined the Army.  He was discharged in 1967.  

Marv married Patricia Mallon on August 3rd, 1968 in Esko.  They lived in the Cloquet/Carlton area while raising their 3 boys.  Marv worked at Conwed in Cloquet for 20 years and 24 more years at USG.  When not at work or camping with friends and family, Marv could be found in his favorite pastime - working on cars in his garage.  Marv was also very involved in the local Legion.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father Hjalmer, his mother Elsie, and his sister Renee.

He is survived by wife Patricia; son Scott Stohlberg (Kara Knutson) of Cloquet; son Mark Stohlberg (Jodi Thompson) of Dauphin, PA; son Brian Stohlberg of Cloquet; 6 grandsons; and 4 great grandchildren.  

A Celebration of Life for Marvin will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1 – 3 PM at the Cloquet VFW, 210 Arch Street, Cloquet, MN.
