Mary Flygare, 73 of Park Rapids, formerly South Haven, died Friday, December 26th, 2025 at Crystal Brook Memory Care in Park Rapids. She was born October 3rd, 1952 in Eagle Bend, Minnesota, to Neale and Priscilla Brown.
Mary worked as a florist most of her life. She loved flowers, whether it was at work or at her lake home tending to her beautiful pots. Mary and her husband Chuck took pride in their huge garden and always harvested quite the bounty. Mary loved the outdoors and animals of all kinds. She loved her home and enjoyed cooking and baking. She looked forward to Chuck and her vacations to Mexico every winter.
Most of all, Mary loved her family and they were very important to her. She was a very generous, thoughtful and kind person with a good sense of humor, and a little sass. She loved having a beer or two and visiting with all. She will forever be missed.
Mary is survived by her brother: Greg Brown (Chris) and sister: Cheryl Akre (Brad), both of Park Rapids; nieces: Debi Brown (Jim) of Fargo, Mindy DeWinter (Lary) of Park Rapids, Jessica Brown (Dusty) of Saginaw, MN; nephew: Brody Ball (Jamie) of Nevis; stepsons: Dean Flygare (Debbie) and Jason Flygare (Jenny), both of Annandale, Jeff Flygare (Angela) of Monticello; and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Jeff and Ronnie Brown, nephew Curt Brown, and nephew-in-law Rick DeWinter.
There will be a private burial in the spring in Eagle Bend, Minnesota.
Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
