Mary Rose Lussier, “Tiny Mary”, Gizhibaayaashi “Whirlwind”, began her journey to the spirit world Sunday, April 13, 2025 in Duluth, MN.
Mary was born on December 8, 1956 to Lawrence “Larry” and Louise “Qwetch” (King) Lussier in Minneapolis, MN. Mary enjoyed watching TV, sneaking snacks, fishing, cooking, Pow-wows, music, thrift stores, rummaging and especially spending time with her boys and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by children: Mike (Michelle) Lussier, Jesse (Summer) Lussier, Lawrence (Robyn) Hermann-Lussier; sisters: Flower King and Shirlyn Whitefeather; special sisters: Robyn Isham-Stately, Kelly King and Tina Stately; special daughter: Star May; grandchildren: Eliza, Alanza, Santi and Jordan Lussier, Alex Paiz, Damian Smith, Daeya and Dayonna Lussier, Brianna Strong, Denali Hart, Gabriella and Lawrence Lussier; special nephew: Golden Eagle Stately; special niece: Bear Koonsie Stately; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Roselyn and Carolyn King; Mike Hermann; great-grandchildren: Nazai Akari White and Kaomi Foster; and several uncles and aunties.
A wake will begin at 11 AM on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Redby Center with Spiritual Advisor Kelly Iceman and will continue until the service at 1 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025 with Father Tom Niehaus. Active Pallbearers will be Golden Eagle Stately, Jamie King, Zachary Box, Colon Roybal, Mack Kingbird, Kevin Kingbird, Keveon Kingbird and Terry Senogles. Alternate: Rain Stately. Honorary Pallbearers will be John King, Flower Ann King, Shirlyn Whitefeather, Kelly King, Fred Charwood, Tonya Olsen, Robyn Isham-Stately, Tina Stately, Ed Isham, Barbara Ramos, Isadora Lussier, Fred & Ted Mart and Verlin “Itto” Kingbird.
Burial will be at the Family Burial Grounds in Redby, MN.
