Melody J. Engen

Melody Joy (White) Engen, 58, of Longville, MN, traveled to the spirit world on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Grand Rapids, MN.

Melody was born on December 7, 1965, in Crane Lake, MN, to Zora Darlyne (Bird) White and Donald Jesse White. She served in United States Army for a time before returning to Northern Minnesota.

Family meant everything to Melody, she looked forward to visiting with them and loved being a grandma to all 9 of her grandchildren. She was a mother figure to a lot of people, especially her nieces and nephews who she loved and cared for dearly.

Her hobbies included: sewing, being outside at the lakes, walking, and searching for interesting rocks to add to her collection, she also was a great seamstress, loved Siamese cats, leathers, thrifting, and her boots.

She will be remembered and honored by her children: Victoria Tepiew, Jessica White, Donovan Hare, Cordelia White, Harley Olivia Engen, Hailey Sage (Alejandrina) Engen, Curtis Shadow (Raven) Engen; Siblings: April (Guy) Greene, and Calvin White; Special Cousin, Sabrina White; Fathers of her children: Anthony Hare Sr., Curtis Engen, Chip Reich, and numerous friends and family.

Those greeting her in the spirit world are her parents, Zora and Donald White; son, Anthony Wayne Hare Jr.; Siblings: Sharon (White) St.John, Louisa White, John White, Robert White Sr. and Donald J. White.

The wake will begin at 6PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023, the Bena Community Center in Bena and continue until the service on Friday, July 28, 2023. Pallbearers are: Donovan Hare, Shadow Engen; Wesley White, Rudolph White, Jonathan White, and DeWayne Bower. Honorary pallbearer: Anthony Wayne Hare Jr.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack.
