Michael Joseph Barrett

Michael Joseph Barrett, age 34, of Red Lake, MN, travelled to the spirit world at his home on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Michael was born to Becky Barrett and Edward Jones on September 17, 1989 in Minneapolis, MN. 

Michael attended school in Red Lake, MN. After school, he raised his niece Nakisha McGraw and nephew Nathanial Barrett. He liked going to the casino, playing video games and watching science related TV shows. He helped his mother Becky around the house and loved cookies and baking. He liked traveling with his brother David.

Michael is survived by his mother Becky Barrett; brother David Barrett (Ashley); sisters Lollania Jones, Salina Jones, Rose Barrett (John), Renee Lussier and Kayla Lussier. Aunts and uncles; Frank Barrett Jr.,  Charles (Debbie) Barrett,  Michael Barrett, Peggy (Richard) Grundmerier, Kelly Barrett, Jean Barrett (Marsha), Terry Barrett  and Daryl Barrett.

He is preceded in death by his father Edward Jones; grandparents Frank Barrett Sr., Gladys Barrett (Norcross), David Jones Sr and Donnie Mae Lyons; sisters Jocolyn Jones and Jilleen Jones; brothers Byron Lussier Jr and unknown; aunts Annette Barrett (Demo), Florence Barrett (Larson); uncles Robert Barrett, Gene Barrett, Adolph Barrett and Raymond Barrett. and niece Angel King and cousins.

A wake will begin at 4 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Little Rock Center and continue until the Celebration of Life at 2 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024 with Service Leader Richard Grundmeier. Active Pallbearers will be Julian Benais, George Benais, Dylan Benais, Patrick Desjarlait Jr, Damian McGraw, John McGraw Jr, Roland Lussier Sr and Cody Hinden. Alternate Pallbearers will be Landen Neadeau and Logan Neadeau. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Michael’s nieces and nephews. Michael will be buried at the Family Burial Grounds.
