Michael Blair Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Son, Brother, Uncle and beloved Friend Michael Wayne Blair.

Michael was born on July 6, 1973 in Red Lake, MN. He attended school in Warroad, MN, where he graduated high school. Some of his greatest joys included track and field, fishing and hunting. He loved basketball, football and woodworking. He was very artistic and loved to carve, paint and draw. He also enjoyed history and science.

At the age of 17, Michael enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Part of his time was spent in Japan and abroad on Iwo Jima. He proudly devoted four years of his life to serving our country.

Michael was known to those who loved him as “Pickle,” or “Bear.” He loved joking with people and being a prankster, he was always down for a good laugh. He loved the outdoors and camping and greatly enjoyed his time spent on the road traveling with his brother Jay. He could identify any bird and most types of trees and plants. He could identify animal tracks and had a true appreciation for nature and a love for animals and wildlife. He was always trying to share his knowledge with those around him and loved teaching his nieces and nephews about anything he could. Many memories were made with him that will be truly treasured and cherished forever.

Michael was known for his ability to remain positive even when faced with great difficulties in life. He did his best to spread his love and excitement for life to those around him. He was devoted to his faith and could spend hours talking about his love for the Lord.

Michael was the epitome of a good man. Where there was Mike, there was compassion, understanding, patience, and unmeasurable kindness and love that was free from scrutiny or judgement.

He looked towards the future, yearned to find love and create a family for himself. Always believed in himself, in others and never thought any dream was too big.

Michael was a kind soul. He would always be on the phone calling or texting to check on someone, most of all his mother. He would call her daily, sometimes multiple times a day, to check in on her and dad. He said he always knew Mom believed in him and would never give up on him, and she was his rock.

Michael is survived by his loving parents, Dale and Arnetta Zeidlik; his siblings Tammy (Joe) Rominski, Leah Marie (Devin Larson), Daniel (Cheryl) Zeidlik, Jason Blair, Frank Zeidlik, and Shelly (Ashley) Zeidlik; nieces and nephews Miranda Rominski, Travis Blair, Selena Garza, Tamara Rominski, Tiffany Rominski, Alicia (Dan) Pearson, Daniel (Danielle) Wold, Chelsi (Kaleb) Fisher, Monique (Aaron) Lampi, Ayla Zeidlik, Mylie Zeidlik, Jonnica Eller, Joseph Zeidlik, Rease Stratton, Rylie Stratton, Everett Stratton, SunniMae Stratton, Leo Zeidlik, River Zeidlik, Aiden Zeidlik and Hayes Zeidlik; great nieces and nephews Daulton Kezar, Dustin Pearson, Destini Pearson, Avaiah Garza, Levan Blacketter, Adelynne Fisher, Karsen Fisher, Elijah Biteman and Genevieve Rominski.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Albert Zeidlik, Ann Zeidlik, Olive Blair, Andrew Torgerson, Marcella Ostlund; and many aunts, uncles and loved ones.
