Michael Allen Wichern

Michael Allen Wichern, age 59, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021, at his residence in Duluth, Minnesota.

Michael was born April 24, 1962, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Irene and Earl Wichern. He lived most of his life on White Earth Reservation but also worked for a time for Fond du Lac Reservation as a firefighter, a job he loved. He enjoyed working on cars, taking road trips, and his hobby of collecting antiques. Michael loved the outdoors and fishing, and later in life, he moved to Duluth.

Michael is survived by his children: Josie Wichern Mullen (Brody) of Cloquet and Willis Jackson of White Earth; grandchildren Priscilla, Cynthia, and Taydyn of Cloquet; sister-in-law Wanda Jackson; siblings Barb Wichern of Cloquet and Brian Wichern of White Earth. He was preceded in death by his parents Irene (Bush) and Earl Wichern; sisters Sandra, Dawn and Sonja Wichern; and brother Pat.

A memorial service for Michael will be scheduled in the Spring. Arrangements are being provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service serving Northern Minnesota.
