Michael Yzaguirre Obituary

Michael (Mikey) Anthony Yzaguirre, age 33, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022.  Mikey was born December 26, 1988, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Michael and Karen (Johnson) Yzaguirre.

Mikey was a son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin, uncle, and a great friend. Mikey was a warrior. He was a very talented artist who loved to draw. He spent much time studying martial arts, and spoke of his fond memories playing baseball. Mikey enjoyed spending time with his family. It all began with Pokémon and Pogs. Mikey first played with his sisters Tara and Tonya, and his cousins Jerome, Eric, and Nicole. As the family grew, so did the additional players when Mikey then played those games with his niece Elsie and his nephews Matthew, Anthony and Jason.  Mom and Dad will miss watching and listening to the many hours of trading, making deals, and all of the bickering. Mikey loved to see the little ones’ minds at work.

Mikey was so special. Those who knew Mikey knew he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was caring, charismatic, determined, passionate and protective. Mikey also loved skateboarding and spending time with his cousins Devin and AJ. Mikey would have done anything for his family, his friends and even a stranger in need. Mikey enjoyed spending time with his niece Elsie and his nephews Matthew, Anthony, and Jason. Mikey was the best Monopoly player; nobody could beat him. Mikey was a gamer. He certainly taught his niece and nephews a few things, not only about gaming, but also life. Mikey loved to have a good time, hanging out with his family. Mikey went to the kids’ games, school ceremonies, camping, fishing, birthday parties, and holidays. Mikey loved the 4th of July. Mikey was definitely a pyromaniac. He also liked to shoot guns and loved anything that went boom! Mikey treasured his time with his sisters Tara and Tonya at the casino, especially playing blackjack. He loved spending time with his many cousins, aunts, and uncles in metro area and up north. Mikey was also very handy and helped with many home repairs and remodels.

And let’s not forget, Mikey loved to party. Mikey will be especially missed by everyone at the dining room table sharing meals and great conversations, and the countless hours of playing Ace to King. Hey, Mikey, Namma still cheats.

WE LOVE YOU MIKEY!
