Michelle Strong Obituary

Michelle Mary Strong, age 60, started her journey to the spirit world on January 18, 2026 in Red Lake, MN.

Michelle was born earth side on September 25, 1965 to Alvina Strong and Jim Jones. She was born and educated in Red Lake. She was employed at the Red Lake Casino for many years and was a cook at the Red Lake Schools. Michelle enjoyed going to the casino, powwows, spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends and her only child, Nicholas. She loved helping others and always opened her door for everyone. She was an amazing cook.

Michelle is preceded in death by her parents, Alvina Strong and Jim Jones; brothers: Harvey Strong and Raymond “Burr” Strong; sister: Ramona Bailey; grandchild: Sylis Graves; special friend: Wanda Graves; and numerous aunts, uncles and family.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas (Tyannah) Strong; special children: Felix and Fabian Cloud, Dalene Fajardo and Isabella Thunder; grandchildren: Nevaeh (Steven) Graves, Apaulo Graves, Daksyn Graves, Nickole Graves, Giiwosew Graves, MaryLu Graves, Tylene Isham, Emilio and Rey Mendoza, Steven “Tre” Rainey, Ramira and Ramone Johnson; brother: Steven Strong; sisters: Billie Jean Strong, Jo (Larry) Dudley, Bev Neadeau, Cheryl Stately and Phylicia Sumner; and husband, Bob Needham.

A wake will begin at 1 PM on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the Redby Center and will continue until the service at 1 PM on Monday, January 26, 2026 with Father Tom Niehaus.  Active Pallbearers will be Mike Strong, Bob Dudley, Todd Barrett, Randy  L. Barrett, Corey Wipf, Fabian and Felix Cloud, Quintin Strong, Nick Strong, Will May, RJ Needham, Jordan Needham, Corey Bailey, Debwe Sons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Karen McNeal, Mary Ellen Cook, Raelyn Sayers, Stacy Beaulieu, Collette Maxwell, Uncle Duck, Dalene Fajardo, Nicole Buckanaga, Amy Brown, Lynette Vizenor, Michelle Reynolds, Laurie Klein, Dana & Deanne Miller, Sandy Cobenais, Annette Beaulieu, Shari Spears. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
