Naomi Sareva Lagou-Blue "Manidookwe" (Spirit Woman), age 45, travelled to the spirit world on April 30, 2022.
Naomi was born on September 4, 1976, in Minneapolis, MN, to Charlys Blue and Brian Lagou, Sr. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Melvin May, Jr. Naomi had many hobbies and interests. She loved to travel, read books and hang out with her family and friends. She was a gifted artist who enjoyed creating beautiful hand beaded jewelry. Naomi had an appreciation for nature and loved to go fishing. She looked forward to dancing at pow wows and made new friends wherever she went.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Brayden Brun; her mother, Charlys May, siblings: Tammy Cloud, Brian Lagou, Jr., Travis Raisch, Terrance May, Aaron May, Clarice Applebee, Ahiena (Jacob) Bellanger, Tashina Wanblee-Claw; great auntie, Gloria Neadeau; special sisters: Victoria White and Dacia Juarez; special friend, Marquist Santio; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Those greeting her in the spirit world are her step-father, Melvin “T-Man” May, Jr.; grandparents: Ardelle “Joan” Blue, George Schoenborn, Yvette Bellanger, Rosalie Hill; father, Brian Lagou, Sr.
The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Allen Hardy will be the spiritual leader. Active casketbearers will be: Sheldon Schoenborn, Barry King, J.R. Antoine Bellanger, Jr., Russell “Bubbles” Morrison, Jeff Lagou, Samuel White, Sr., Christopher Blue, Terrance Lussier, Jeff Brun, and alternate, Matt Lagou. Honorary casketbearers will be: Damion Palm, Ron Long, Lee Morrison, Candace Lagou, Dacia Jurnes, Tawicia Zepier, Brian Bellanger, Kevin Sigana, Tubby Lawrence, Brianna Johnson, Raven White and Tom Desjarlait.
