Norma Jean Gitchel

Norma Jean Gitchel, age 68 of Mesa, AZ, began her journey to the spirit world on October 30, 2025 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Norma was born on December 22, 1956 to Esther C. Stone (Brown) in Red Lake, MN.  Norma married Michael E. Gitchell on July 27, 1996.  She liked bingo, diamond painting, golf and spending time with dog, Bailey. Her and Mike had regular weekly Bingo nights together.

Norma is survived by her spouse: Michael Gitchel; children: Kristina M Stone (Steve McCormick Jr) and Juan Lopez III; grandchildren: Phoebe Stone, Kennedy Stone, Heaven Wind, Louis St John IV, Mary Reynolds, Clarissa St John, Joel Rocha III, Jacien St John and Abrey Benjamin; great-grandchildren: Oliver Granger and Jensen Granger; siblings: Timothy F. Stone; and niece: Stacy Stone.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Esther Stone; sister: Edwina Stone; niece: Randi Stone; father-in-law: Bert Gitchel; mother-in-law: Elizabeth Gitchel and sister-in-law: Debbie Gitchel.

A wake will begin at 1 PM on Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Little Rock Community Center and will continue until the service at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 with Spiritual Leader Mike Needham. Active Pallbearers will be Chaise Nelson, Juan Lopez III, Dana Lyons Jr, Tyson R. Nelson, Tyson D. Nelson, Aarion Lyons. Honorary will be Mike Gitchel, Timothy Stone, Wanda Lyons. A Committal Service will be held at Fort Snelling at 11:30 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
