Patsy Spears Obituary

Patsy Ann Spears, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, surrounded by her family.

Patsy was born In Red Lake, Minnesota, on February 21, 1956, to Albert and Alice (Bedeau) Spears. She grew up in Red Lake and attended Red Lake High School, later earning her General Equivalency Diploma. Patsy gave birth to four children Douglas, Royce, Terra and Jennifer, and in 1990 the family moved to Bagley. There she married Bill Thompson and together they enjoyed their grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Patsy worked in various types of employment including Personal Care Assistant, Housekeeper, TEAM Industries, and volunteering her service at the Lighthouse in Bagley. She recently moved to Bemidji where she continued doing the things she loved including spending time at the casino, shopping and rummaging. Most important she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed at pow wows where she loved to cook out and where the family came to be together.

Patsy is survived by her daughters Terra and Jennifer Spears, sons Douglas and Royce Spears; former husband William ‘Bill’ Thompson; stepson Ryan Thompson; grandchildren Carter, Ericka, Patrick, Brittany, Tiffany, Hunter, Hayden, Chandler, Blaze, Carma, EuNessa, and LaCadie; step-grandchildren Ayasha, Landon, Navander, ChassLynn, Darion, DeyShawn; a very special niece Share Lussier (Spears); her PCA Carrianne Spears;  several great-grandchildren; brother Clarence (Gloria) Spears; sisters Mary Fayant, Donna Jordain, and Kathy Dudley; aunt Alberta ‘Mannie’ Norris; and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Gloria, and brothers Brian, Patrick, Albert, John and Frank.

A wake will begin on Saturday, May 16, at 2:00 pm at Little Rock Community Center and will continue until the service on Sunday, May 17, at the Center. A private burial will be held at a later date.
