Peter F. Graves Sr., age 84, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, in Chippewa Falls, WI.
Peter was born on July 28, 1939, in Red Lake, MN to Claudia Beaulieu and Paul Graves. As a young man, he moved his family to Chicago, IL, where he worked as a machinist for many years. After his retirement, he moved back to Red Lake. He worked at New Beginnings and as a bus driver for Red Lake Schools. Peter was an avid sports fan. He was an excellent bowler and played on several competitive bowling leagues that travelled around the states. He played softball in his younger years and loved watching his son play baseball. He looked forward to football season, cheering on the Vikings with his brothers every Sunday. Peter was a social guy, enjoying his daily stop at Dale’s Bar for a visit.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Donald (Diane) Graves, Bruce (Ginger) Graves, Dale “Gilly” (Stephanie) Graves, Connie Oouthoudt, Frank Graves, Bernadette Burns, Bernadine Burns, Brenda Burns, Betty Burns, Berdine Burns; children: Shawn Lussier, Tiffany (Clayton) Lussier, Drew Graves, Grant Graves, Gerry Graves, Gordon (Sonni) Graves, Sherri (Stu Sr.) Sweeney, Peter Graves Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends,
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Paul Joe Graves Jr., Paulette Graves; daughter, Yvette Lussier; grandson, Forrest King; nephew, Donald Graves Jr.; great-nephew, Tyler Graves.
The wake will begin at 4PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the New Red Lake Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 1PM on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with Father John Christianson officiating. Active pallbearers will be Peter’s grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be: Marv Smith, Ken Beaulieu, Harlow Spears, Duane “Ole” Spears, James “Gus” Strong, Fabian “Nickel” Cook, Gerry “Aug” Auginash Jr., Arica Kirby, Tammy Russell Skyberg and his Dale’s Bar Buddies.
