Richard Allen Clark, Giniw “Golden Eagle”, age 53, of Redby, MN, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on November 13, 2023, at 8:50pm at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.

Richard was born on October 10, 1970, in Park Rapids to William Andrew “Andy” Clark Sr. and Lanna Tucker. Richard was a very giving man who spent some of his childhood in the Twin Cities. He later moved to Red Lake, MN with his grandmother, Freida Hart. Richard attended school in Red Lake and later moved to Bemidji and attended Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School in Bena, MN. During his school years,  he was active in sports, playing basketball, football, and was involved in the Bemidji Boxing Club in his teenage years. Richard enjoyed cooking and one of his favorite dishes to make was chili and frybread. He enjoyed working on cars and doing outdoor activities. Richard also like to travel a lot, attending pow wows and sweats. He as known for making things with his hands such as dreamcatchers, woodburning, homemade breads, and parachute cord bracelets. Richard liked to work out and keep himself in tip-top shape. Richard loved nature and taking pictures of sunsets. He had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. The world could never keep Richard down. He was a good-hearted guy and never failed to let his children know that he loved them dearly.

He was preceded in death and welcomed into the spirit world by his father, William “Andy” Clark Sr.; his son, Preston White; brothers: William Andrew Clark Jr and David William Clark Sr..; nieces: Ryshayna Leigh Clark, Haya Mahmood; aunts and uncles: Gerladine Hart, Rosella Hart-May, Edna Hart-Kingbird, Delia Clark, Donna Clark, Maurice Clark, Melvin Smith Sr., Larry Smith, Vernon Clark, Oliver Clark and Francis Clark.

Richard is survived by his children: Faron Clark, Destinee Clark, Cheyenne Clark, Miranda Northbird, and Richard Clark Jr.; grandson, Tylor Clark and a granddaughter; his mother, Lanna Tucker; siblings: Terry Jourdain, Jordan Cloud, Patty Stone, Leah Clark, Billie Houchins, Sarah Alotaibi, Crystal Zschokke, Selena Clark,m Angelica Hardy, and Kyle Clark.

A traditional wake will begin at 11AM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN, and continue until the service on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Allen Hardly will be the Spiritual Advisor. Active pallbearers will be: Gitch Clark, Corky Clark, Robert Meeshenow, Cheyenne Clark, Faron Clark, Chris Zschokke, Xavier Zschokke. Honorary pallbearers will be: Marvin “Pepe” Strong, Melvin Smith Jr., Stephanie Northbird, all his children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack (whisperingpinesnorth.com).
