Ronnie Joseph Spears

Ronnie Joseph Spears, age 73, began his journey to the spirit world in Bemidji, MN.

Ronnie was born on April 7, 1952 to Rosella Spears and Clifford Monroe. He grew up and was raised by his grandma Nancy Spears in Red Lake, MN. He liked casinos, especially the penny slot machines, rolling a smoke and hanging with family.

Ronnie is survived by his 5 children: Ronnie Spears Jr (Marci Gaggle), Dustin Spears (Pamela Scott), Brandi Decoteau, Ronna Spears and Garrett Jones; 38 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; siblings: Adrian Spears, Sherilyn Spears, Roseann Spears, Marlene Spears and Roland Spears; and numerous family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mom; grandchildren:  Sayer Spirit, Dustin Lee Jr, Luvlei Luv and Baby Spears;  and siblings: Earl Spears, Lloyd Spears and Lawrence Spears Sr.

A wake will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the New Red Lake Center and will continue until the service at 12 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026.  Active Pallbearers will be Dustin Spears, Ron Spears Jr, Jerrell Spears, Travon Spears, Avery Lussier-Neadeau, Lawrence Spears Jr, Raymond Oliver, Derrick Oliver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Rosebear, Adrian Spears, Brandi Decoteau, Ronna Spears, Janet Dubois, Pamela Scott, and family members. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
