Rosemary M. Ochs, age 90, of Walker, died at her home on May 17, 2024.
Rosemary Margaret Juenemann was born on October 15, 1933 in Springfield, MN to Oscar and Barbara (Hillesheim) Juenemann. She was united in marriage to Norbert Ochs on August 22, 1959 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. They moved to Walker in 1959 for Norbert’s first teaching job and liked it so much that they made Walker their permanent home.
Rosie worked for many years at Sandy’s Super Valu and then Bieloh’s Red Owl. She was a dedicated mother and wife, always putting Norb and the kids above herself. Rosie was an outstanding baker, known particularly for her homemade bread and her apple bars. She was very active at St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Angels of St. Agnes and donated prolifically to the Angels’ cookie walks and bake sales. Rosie had an amazing green thumb, she received numerous compliments on her flowers from people walking or biking by. Rosie and Norb both love dogs and in addition to caring for their own dog, Snooks, they provided doggie day care for many neighboring dogs. Most recently Rosie enjoyed the company of her granddog, Willow. Rosie picked up golf in her later years and continued to golf a couple times a week through last summer. Rosie was known and loved for her kindness, compassion, generosity and quick wit. She will be deeply missed.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, Norbert Ochs, Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji; daughter Lorre Ochs, Eden Prairie; son Michael Ochs, Eden Prairie; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by stillborn daughter, Susan; her parents; brothers Delbert, Willard, Ralph, Gerald, and Jerome Juenemann; and sisters Irene (Leo) Groebner, Delores (Ervin) Platz, and Marilyn (Clayton) King.
