Sandra Jean McKee, age 72, of North Branch, MN, formerly of Red Lake, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
Sandra was born on February 4, 1951, in Red Lake, MN to Herman and Barbara (Lussier) English, Sr. She was raised in Red Lake and later moved to the twin cities. Sandra worked in food service and cooked for Heritage of Edina for many years. She enjoyed gardening and grew a vegetable garden every summer. She was an excellent cook who was known for her walleye dinners with wild rice and fry bread. She looked forward to over the road trucking trips with her husband, Norman and travelled throughout the United States with him over the years. She will be remembered for her warm bubbly personality and her love for her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; children: Jeanna (Vernon) Pierce, Jill Oakgrove; brother, Douglas English; grandchildren: Jocelyn Oakgrove, Jerome Oakgrove, Jacinda Oakgrove, Malarie Kegg, Jerilyn Oakgrove, Joseph Pierce, Jerald Oakgrove; four great-grandchildren; special sister, Carol English-Hunt; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents: Herman English and Barbara (Herb) Brown; children: Janelle Oakgrove and Robert McKee; brothers: Ludie English, Lee W. English Sr., Bonnie K. English; grandsons: Joshua J. Oakgrove and Jerrith Ryan Oakgrove.
The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Old Red Lake Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, with Father John Christianson officiating. Active casketbearers will be family and friends. Honorary casketbearers will be: Carol English-Hunt, Delores English, Rosie Barrett, Ron Cobenais and everyone that helped with Sandra’s service. Burial will be at the English family burial grounds at the Episcopal Cemetery in Red Lake.
