Sharolyn D. Ramsey

Sharolyn D. Ramsey, of the Bear Clan, age 76, of Redby, MN, travelled to the spirit world on Monday, July 3, 2023, in Wadena, MN.

Sharolyn was born on November 11, 1946, in Red Lake, MN to Dorothy Roy and William Oakgrove. She graduated from Red Lake High School in May of 1964; worked various jobs including Red Lake Elementary School for nine years. She became an LPN in November 1983. Sharolyn had a heart of gold, loved going to powwows, doing word search puzzles, watching her favorite tv shows, cooking and baking, and most of all, spend time with her grandchildren.

She will be remembered by her daughter, Jackie Ramsey; a special granddaughter whom she raised, Desiree Stillday; two grandchildren, Janelle and Anthony; two great-grandchildren: Vincent and Megan Smith; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Those greeting her in the spirit world are; her parents: Dorothy Roy and William Oakgrove; sister, Dorothy Cobenais; son, Richard (Lupa) Ramsey, Jr., nephew, Duane Cobenais, Jr., great niece, Latoya Schoenborn, aunt, Philomene Oakgrove, son-in-law, Richard A. Howard, and many other relatives and friends.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Redby Community Center in Redby and continue until the service on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. The spiritual leader will be Allen Hardy. Active casketbearers will be: Gary Cobenais, Mike Cobenais, Myron Cobenais, Sr., Jim Oakgrove, Duane Cobenais III, Derrick Cobenais, Derald “Ola” Cobenais, Donovan Cobenais, Myron “Sonny” Cobenais, Jr., Chase Cobenais. Honorary casketbearers will be: June Holstein, Donna Johnson, Gina Carlson, Candy Beaulieu, Andrea (Andi) Cobenais, Chariese Schoenborn, Leogene (Toody) English and Laurel Bratvold-Lussier. Burial will be at Fox Point Cemetery in Redby. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, MN.
