Sheila "Goose" Hill

Sheila Renee “Goose” Hill, age 50, of Redby, MN, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, MN.

Sheila was born on June 14, 1971, in Bemidji, MN to Arnold "Tiger" and Mary (Parnell) Johnson. She graduated from Red Lake High School with the class of 1989 and then went on to attend college courses. She was united in marriage to Anthony Hill, Sr. on January 15, 2010 and made Redby their home.  Sheila worked for the Red Lake School District, Red Lake Housing, Seven Clans Casino and most recently for Oshkiimaajiitadah as a transportation driver, which she really enjoyed.

Sheila was known as a kind and caring person with an open door policy. If she could help, she would, no matter the circumstances.  Her positive attitude was infectious and people were naturally drawn to her.   Sheila enjoyed travelling and was an excellent cook who looked forward to visiting with family and friends over a home cooked meal. She also loved that she and her daughter, Andreis, shared the same birthday.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Anthony; her children:  Anthony, Jr. and Andreis; siblings: Ira Johnson, Debbie Johnson and Charles Johnson; special siblings: Melanie Roy, Sue Roy, Beth Roy, Nicole Roy, Tracy Kingbird, Dwight Johnson and Jeff Roy, Sr.; special sons and daughters: Ramona Fajardo, Jamal Fajardo, Lee Beaulieu; Sheila’s mother-in-law, Gloria Neadeau; special aunt, Elaine Johnson, Godchildren:  Alexandra Roy, Timothy Roy and Tannah Morgan as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold "Tiger" and Mary Johnson; paternal grandparents, Lucille and Frank "Ole" Johnson; maternal grandparents, Phillip and Clara Parnell; her brother, Andrew Johnson; special daughters: Michaela “Mikey Jo” Roy, Noelle Roy and Michaelana Roy; and nephew, Julian Johnson.

The wake will begin at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Redby Community Center in Redby and continue until the service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 27, 2021 with Reverend George Ross officiating.  The active casketbearers will be:  Hank Hill, Sr., Hank Hill, Jr., Dolan Donnell, Ricky Jackson, Devin Roy, Sr., Nicholas Roy, Jeff Roy, Jr., Ryan Roy, Cyras Whitefeather and alternates: Anthony Hill, Jr., Keenan Beaulieu, Kevin Barrett and Montana Hill.  Honorary casketbearers will be: Brittany Olberg, Connie Berg, Collette Kingbird, Dawn Schoenborn, Rachel Hill, Daylene Fajardo, Ramona Fajardo, Patricia Potter, Dezirae Hill, Shayla Wind, Ruth Wind, Alyssa Stately, John Dudley, Marvin Yellow, Roger Strong and Lee Beaulieu, Sr. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Redby, MN.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, Walker, MN, (www.whisperingpinesnorth.com).
