Susan "Sue" Jane Welter

Susan “Sue” Jane Welter, 80, of Hackensack, MN formerly of Chanhassen, MN passed away on

February 23rd, 2025 at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd, MN.

Susan was born on January 26th, 1945 to Hank and Glena Arnold. Sue spent her younger years in Chanhassen, where she met her husband Joe Welter, and raised her family. In 1982 Sue and Joe moved to Hackensack, MN into the log home that remained their permanent residence. Sue enjoyed the outdoors, spending time deer hunting and fishing, and tending to her yard. It was her talent and skill for upholstery and sewing that kept her busy through the years. When not sewing or upholstering Sue spent her time cleaning cabins for summer residents.

Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Welter, parents, Henry and Glena Arnold and brother-in-law Bernie Smieja.

She is survived by children, Cindy Robling (Steve) of Carver, MN, Kathryn Mosimann (Richard) of Brainerd, MN and Michael Welter (Lissa) of Newport News, Virginia, sister Annette Smieja, brother Rick Arnold, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in Hackensack on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 1-3 PM.
