Tamera Lyn Charnoski "Zhooniya-Ikwe" (Money Woman), 48 of Redby, Minnesota began her journey on September 11, 2022, surrounded by her family at home. Tamera was born on August 29, 1974, to Mary Charnoski and Tom Charnoski Sr in Bemidji, Minnesota. In her younger years, Tamera danced Fancy Shawl, and later became a Jingle Dress Dancer which led her to dance in front of Pope john Paul II which was her greatest honor during the Tekakwitha Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. She was instrumental and first to suggest changing Red lake to become “Red lake Nation “Tamera was a sister niece, auntie, cousin, daughter, friend, but there’s nothing she loved more than being a mother. She was blessed to have the one and only daughter December Jo Charnoski and a mother-in-law to Tyrell Lee Stillday and beloved friend Michael Ballanger She loved to draw, beading, and listening to music especially listening to Metallica and Pantera. She liked to get tattoos and made a whole room laugh when she jokes around with her family and friends. She loved to go for rides with her daughter and son in law and to go play her free play at the casino. Tamera liked to take pictures of the sunsets at the cutoff and likes to tease all her nieces and nephews and her special sissy Karley along with her daughter and son in law. She worked for the casino in Thief River Falls, Minnesota for many years. Honorary pallbearers for Tamera will be Andrew May, Vernon May Jr, Tatum May, Tessa May, Miley Sayers, Dan Sayers, Kaleigha Sayers, Andrell Charnoski, Dani “Roc” Downwind, Allie “Ric” Cook, Jim Brown, Takiyah Thunder, Reggie Wind, Hayden Smith, Angela Charnoski and Amanda Jordain. Tamera’s Casketbearers will be Donavan “Ivan” Wind, Zach Wind, Dwight Bellanger Jr, Damien Charnoski, Fred Auginash, Tom Charnoski Jr, Charlie “Whee” Charnoski Jr, Tyrell Stillday, Ian Auginash, Dwight “Binky” Johnson, and Rob Fairbanks
A Wake for Tamera will be begin on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM and continue until the funeral service on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Redby Community Center, Redby, Minnesota with Fr. John Christenson and Pastor Mitch Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Red Lake, Minnesota. Arrangements are by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, Walker, Minnesota.
