Thelma Grimley Obituary

Thelma Jeanette (Lambert) Grimley, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at May Creek in Walker, Minnesota. She was born on October 14, 1935 to Einar and Almena (Olsen) Lambert in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Thelma grew up on a small farm in Frohn Township (between Bemidji and Cass Lake). She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1954 and married her husband, John Grimley, in 1957. Thelma was a realtor and owned her own agency, Leech Lake Realty. She enjoyed painting, needlepoint and had a life-long love of horses. Thelma and John were both involved in the Walker Rotary Club and the Sons of Norway for many years. She has been lovingly cared for at May Creek in Walker for the last three years. The family sincerely appreciates all the staff at May Creek and thanks them for taking such good care of their Mom.

Thelma is survived by her sons John (Jean) Grimley, Curt (Mary) Grimley and Jeff (Lee Ann) Grimley; and many grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband John.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker, Minnesota with Pastor Dave Smith officiating. A private interment will follow at Frohn Cemetery in Bemidji, Minnesota.
