Thomas Lee Ravensborg

Thomas Lee Ravensborg, Anii-mi-kii-inini “Thunderbird Man”, age 53, of Redby, MN, travelled to the spirit world on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in Redby, MN.

Tom was born on October 1, 1968, in Grand Forks, ND, to Frances (Rushman) and Roger Smith. He grew up in Big Falls, MN, and made his home in Redby, MN. He worked for Viking Pipe Services until 1999 when he was in a car accident. After recovering, he worked as a logger as his health would allow. Tom was kindhearted and enjoyed helping others. He loved mowing the grass and working on cars. Tom also liked trying his luck at the various casinos in the area.  Above all, he loved his children and grandchildren, driving to Bemidji whenever he got a chance to visit them all.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Christina (Dustin) Fisher; grandsons: Dylan, Ashton, and Brycen Fisher; father, Roger Smith; brothers: Gorden Smith, Mark Smith, Virgil Ravensborg, Mike (Renee) Ostlund, Sr.; Shannon Rainey, mother of his son, Baylee, who passed away; special nieces: Delaney Ostlund, Cherai Clark, Natasha Smith, and Darilyn Ravensborg, who was like a sister to him; as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Those greeting Tom in the spirit world are: his mother, Frances Smith; infant son, Baylee Thomas Ravensborg; sister, Sherry Ostlund; brother, Roger Ravensborg, Sr., special aunts: Leojean Rushman, Lavina Rushman and Emma Knudsen; uncle Henry Rushman and great-niece, Savannah Ravensborg.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Redby Community Center and continue until the service on Thursday, 11 AM, September 22, 2022, with Zac Earley as spiritual leader.  Active casketbearers will be: Roger Ravensborg, Jr., Vincent Rushman, Michael Ostlund, Jr., Alex Erickson, Gorden Smith, Michael Ravensborg, with alternates: Keith Beaulieu and Robert “Moe” Rushman. Honorary casketbearers will be: Christina and Dustin Fisher, grandsons: Dylan, Ashton, and Brycen Fisher; Tom’s brothers, nieces and nephews; friends: Chuck Donnell, Everet Moe and Richard Dudley.
