Thomas (Tom) R. Rozek, age 53, of Princeton, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2023, while at his home away from home “Up North”.
Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Tom later moved to Minnesota where he could access many great fishing lakes. Tom was a kind, patient, and thoughtful soul who will be missed and remembered fondly by those who loved him. Tom was opinionated and direct, stubborn at times, could tell a fishing tale or two, but had an enormous heart. He was generous, caring, loyal, brave, and helped anyone that he could. He was a private person yet exuded confidence with his bigger than life personality and stature.
Tom was an outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, and sharing that passion and skill with others. He caught many elusive muskies in his lifetime, even winning the 2007 Top Gun Team of the Year award on the Professional Musky Tournament Trail. Tom enjoyed his coffee, a good cocktail, wine, or cider; sunrises, sunsets, and a lake view; he loved to entertain with a fish fry or BBQ; you could find him “deck dwelling” or on the boat when time and weather permitted, and you could always count on him if you needed anything.
In recent years, Tom struggled with some medical issues, but he pushed through each day with his big smile and perseverance; he was not going to let that stop him from living the dream and drowning some minnows. He was loved and will be missed by many. His memory and teachings will live on through his friends and neighbors until we meet again.
In typical Tom fashion, there are no formal services planned. A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date with details to be determined.
