Wanda Kingbird

Wanda Kingbird, age 54, of the Bear Clan, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Wanda, the daughter of Dora Kingbird and Clarence Kingbird, was born on August 17, 1966 in Red Lake, MN, and was raised in Ponemah all her life. She went to Red Lake High School, graduating in 1989. She worked various jobs up until she got sick. Wanda loved being with her children and grandchildren.  Her favorite spot was at the Casino. She loved gambling and playing Yahtzee.

Those she leaves behind are her daughters: Dorie (Terrance) French of Ponemah, Lori Kingbird of Ponemah, Savanna (Kham) Villanueva of Warroad, Manuela (Steve) Villanueva of Warroad; her grandchildren:  Aariyannah V., Amealieano Lussier, Jr., Jayce A., Peyton K.B. and Aleilah Spears; sisters:  Glendoris (Rick) Kingbird and Doreen (Shaun) French both of Ponemah; brothers:  Adrian (Leslie) Kingbird of Ponemah, Lawrence (Nadine) Kingbird or Barnum, MN, and Calvin (Evelyn) Kingbird of Red Lake, MN; and her special niece, Madisson Rosebear of Ponemah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora and Clarence, brothers: Emerson, John (Llewellyn) Benjamin, Clinton Kingbird and Cornelius Kingbird; sister, Beverly; her son Clinton Villanueva and grandbaby Ivory.

The wake will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Boys & Girls Club in Ponemah and continue until the service at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 14, 2021. The spiritual leader will be Lawrence Kingbird.  Pallbearers will be:  Kham Vorachak, Sheldon French, Llewellyn Kingbird, Jr., Devin Anderson, Bob Kingbird and Steven Spears. Alternates will be Aaron Johnson and Tyson Desserly.  Honorary casketbearers will be:  Loretta and Lulu Kingbird, Brenda Johnson, Devin Madoll, Merissa “Bubz” Dubois, Aldean Morrison, Faye King, her grandkids, daughters, and Randijo and Vance. Interment will be at the Kingbird Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah. Services provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker, MN (www.whisperingpinesnorth.com).
