Wenona Marie Poler

Wenona Marie Poler, age 43, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020.

Wenona was born on September 24, 1977, in Minneapolis, MN to James and Mary (Rainey) Poler. She grew up in south Minneapolis with her Grandmother Lucille Rainey after her mother passed away when Wenona was only 15 months old. With the help of her older sister Denise, Wenona attended school and developed a special interest in swimming and track and field. She is said to have been a really good swimmer and competed in her school’s swim meets.  When she was 21, she met Dave Loud, her significant other, and together they made their home. Wenona is remembered by her family as a loving, caring person who would help anyone in need if she had the ability to do so. She especially enjoyed going to the casino and playing the lottery, and also spent time using her artistic talents in beadwork, coloring and painting.

Wenona will be greatly missed by her significant other Dave Loud; sons Jorge Rivera, Enrique Calzada, and Marcello Loud; daughters Marcella Loud, Breanna Rainey, and Carmen Moore; grandchildren Dante James Rainey, Brielle Fineday, and Khaliyah Moore; sisters Denise Rainey, Rachel Poler, Darla Neadeau, and Nicole Neadeau; brothers Steve Rainey, Sr., Gary Poler, and Chadwick Rainey; and nieces Mercedes Diaz and Marcell Rainey.  She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Lucille Rainey, and grandfather Kenneth Rainey.

A wake for Wenona will begin Monday, December 28, 2020, at 1:00pm at the Red Lake Center, Red Lake, MN, and will continue until the service on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake. Pallbearers will be Marcus Rainey, Conrad Rainey, Troy Thompson, Gary Poler, Steve Rainey Jr., Waub (Bruce) Rainey, Bill Rainey, Hunter Parker and Cliff Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Denise Rainey, Josette (Rainey) Jones, Rona Rainey, Jonelle Rainey, Amanda Sonnenberg, Winona “Girl” Mountain, Marie Rainey, Julia Rainey, Marilyn Deegan, and Janet OldRock.
