Wilbur Vern Humphrey Jr

Wilbur Vern Humphrey Jr, age 58, began his journey to the spirit world on June 26, 2026.

Wilbur was born on July 3, 1967 to Wilbur Humphrey Sr and Judy Barrett.  As a 10 or 11 year old, Will competed in the local Punt, Pass and Kick football competition and won his age group and advanced to the State level where he placed second, just missing a chance to compete on the National level on Monday Night Football.  Will was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially riding mini-bikes up north as a kid with his cousins. Wil also was a super fan of the Minnesota Vikings whether they won or lost.

Will is survived by sisters Jocelyn and Andrea Humphrey, and Terra Needham, brother Charlie Barrett and nieces Janessa, Jasmin and other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Kristin Renstom and LeeAnn Cobenais, and special fur babies Poncho and Willow.

He is preceded in death by Father Wilbur Humphrey Sr., Mother Judy Barrett, Grandmother Mamie Humphrey and brothers Hunter, Gene and Frankie, baby Frank and special cousin Hildi Bodga.

He was also survived by and preceded in death by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 12 Noon until 5 PM at the Minneapolis American Indian Center, 1530 East Franklin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN. Active Pallbearers will be Tim Seifert, Gino Erwin, Donald “Jack” Reyes, Danny Reyes, Frankie Humphrey, Donovan Needham, Kobe Cobenais. Honorary Pallbearers will be LeeAnn Cobenais, Deanna Humphrey, Gina Erwin, Kristin Renstrom.
