William James Hart Sr (Gurneau)

William James Hart Sr. (Gurneau), age 49, journeyed to the spirit world on April 21, 2025.

William was born to Luanne Gurneau & Warren "Jack" Hart on April 13, 1976. William was a Red Lake Nation tribal member, where he was born & raised, but moved to the Southside of Minneapolis to give his children a better life. William enjoyed spending time with his children & grandchildren, along with going to the casino to play keno. He also enjoyed working on cars and was a reliable mechanic. William leaves behind 10 children, who he was very close with. He loved his kids and was proud to be a father. William spent his final moments surrounded by his beloved children.

William is survived by his Mother: Luanne Gurneau; Sisters: Nicole Hart, Danielle Hart & Joelyn Hart; Uncle: Daniel Hart; Children: Damien, William, Lindsey, Carissa, Jamison, Dacia, Jaelyn, Jasmine, Jacey & Tessa Hart; Grandchildren: Damya'Rose Ramsey, Cameron Hart, Andrew Hanson, Jaedyn Hart, Jayvon Singleton, Jaevion Singleton, Julian Hart, Wynona Singleton & William Hart lll.

William will be joining the spirit world with his grandmother: Dorothy Hart; father: Warren "Jack" Hart; sister: Lorinda Gurneau; and grandchildren: Dakota & Amaria Singleton. He will also be joining the love of his life, Maggie Sundahl.

A wake will begin at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Old Red Lake Center and continue until the burial at 1 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Active Pallbearers will be Joseph "Cody" Morrison, Joseph Morrison, Marty Singleton, Elliot Hart, William Spaulding and David White Jr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Hart, Daniel Hart and Jambi Westbrook. Burial will be at the Episcopal Cemetery in Red Lake, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, MN.
