William Charles ("Bill") McNeal

William Charles “Bill” McNeal began his journey to the spirit world on Friday, February 7, 2025 in St Paul, MN.

Bill was born on March 17, 1961 in Minneapolis, MN, to Herb and Ina Mae (Cook) McNeal. He attended school for awhile in Minneapolis, then later moved to Red Lake, where he attended Red Lake Elementary and Red Lake High School. He later got his GED. Bill worked as a carpenter and loved doing this type of job, as he was very good at it. He worked in various places and was a good workers. During High School, he played baseball and was known for his left-hand pitch. Later in life, he enjoyed watching the Vikings, loved doing scratch-offs, reading the newspaper and going to the casino with his daughters. He loved fixing up people’s houses. Bill will be missed by us all.

Bill is survived by his 2 daughters: Amber and Diane McNeal; sisters: Jan (Toady) Thunder and Karen (Eli) Ramirez; brothers: Harlan McNeal, Ron McNeal and Don (Michelle) Langer; uncle: Fabian Cook; aunts: Mary Ellen Cook and Sammi Braddock; and mother of his daughters: Irene McNeal (Weiss); and stepchildren: Promise Weiss, Brad Weiss and Shauna Weiss.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Herb and Ina Mae McNeal; sister: Shirley McNeal; brother: Bob McNeal; nephew Mike McNeal; grandparents: Teddy & Ida Cook and Scotty and Jane McNeal; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The wake will begin on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the New Red Lake Center and will continue until the funeral on Thursday, February 13. 2025 at 1:00 PM with Father Tom Niehaus. Active Pallbearers will be Rob McNeal, Joey McNeal, Ron Thunder, Randy Thunder, Leo Cook, Nicolas Cook Roy, Richard “Dahl” Cook, Rodney “Chubbs” Spears, Clayton Cook Sr, Shane Garrigan, Clayton Cook Jr and Cody Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Amber McNeal, Diane McNeal, Randy Barrett, Todd Barrett, Rick Roy, Eugene Perkins, Oriole Kingbird, Eli Ramirez, Oakley Russell, Jadyn Norris, Colleen Cook, Sharon Cook, Duane Cook, Keith Donnell, Dan “Cleve” Johnson, Dan Cook, Eddy Fairbanks Sr, Darrell “Raggs” Johnson, Dave Cobenais Sr, Kelly Thunder, Jade Russell, Kristi Fairbanks, Kayla Cook, Donna Cook, Julius (Toady) Thunder, Fred Donnell, Kauri (McNeal) Russell and Jerry Stately.  Burial will be at a later date at St Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN.
